On April 28, 2013
in Azerbaijan was celebrated the 90th birth anniversary of Zarifa Aziz kaza Aliyeva the scientist-ophthalmologist,
academician of Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, spouse of the third president
of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev and mother of the fourth president of Azerbaijan
Ilham Aliyev. This day the enterprise “Azermarka“ introduced into circulation a
postage block devoted to the known compatriot.
This is the third issue of the Azerbaijan post memory of Zarifa Aliyeva. The previous
postage issues took place in 2003 and 2008.

Zarifa Aliyeva (1923-1985) is author of fourteen monographs
and hundred scientific articles. The most part of its scientific and labor
activity passed in the Azerbaijani institute of improvement of doctors. She
used a deserved authority in the USSR. She developed and entered new methods of
treatment of eye diseases.
