June 26th – Day of the National army of the Republic Azerbaijan.
It was created by the resolution of Council of ministers of June 26, 1918. The
Separate Azerbaijani corps under the Turkish command, was a part of Nouri-pasha
Caucasian Islamic army. Modern armed forces of Azerbaijan appeared at the end
of 1993 in
the period of the Karabakh conflict with Armenia on the basis of local groups
of self-defense.
On June 26, 2013 the state enterprise "Azermarka"
introduced into circulation a postage block devoted to the 95 anniversary of
creation of the Azerbaijan Army. In block are presented a type of military
forces of modern Azerbaijani army: military and air forces, land forces, Navies,
armies of antiaircraft defense, a gallant commando with the grenade launcher
and a machine gun on infantry fighting vehicle armor, and also the coat of arms
of National army of Azerbaijan.
