On May 22, 2013 the Ministry of Communications and
Informatization of the Republic of Belarus will issue a postage stamp “National
Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theatre of the Republic of Belarus” from the
series “Theatres of Belarus”. On stamp is presented the emblem of the theatre.
Designer: Anna Malash. Printing: offset. Colour: full
colour. Paper: chalk-surfaced, gummed. Perforation: comb 131/2. Size of stamp:
52x29,6 mm. Edition: 50 000 copies. The issue is printed in mini sheet of 5 values with
decorating margins. Size of sheetlet: 125x172 mm. Made at the Republican

The National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theatre of
the Republic of Belarus was founded in 1933 as the State Opera and Ballet
Theatre on the basis of the Belarusian opera and ballet school. In 1940 it was
awarded the title “Bolshoi” (Big) and in 1964 -the title “Academic”. Now it’s the largest theatre company in Belarus.
