On January 31, 2013 the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus will issue a set of 2 values and Block “The Red Book of the Republic of Belarus”. On stamps are presented the Moonwort and European Roller.
The issue is prepared within the project “Mainstreaming Biodiversity Conservation into Territorial Planning Policies and Practices in Belarus” with support of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus.

Artist: Alexander Mityanin. Designer: Yauheniya Biadonik. Printing: offset. Colour: multicoloured. Paper: chalk-surfaced, gummed. Perforation: comb. 141/4: 14 and 14: 141/4. Size of stamps: 28x40 mm, and 40x28 mm. Edition: 48.000 copies.
The stamps are printed at the Republican Unitary Enterprise “Bobruisk Integrated Printing House A. Nepogodin”.
The issue is published in tete-beche pairs in 2 mini sheets of 16 values without decorating margins. Size of sheets: 132x186 mm and 186x132 mm.

Moonwort is a fern. It is small with fleshy roots and reproduces by spores shed into the air. It is an endangered species. 
European Roller is a bird resembling a pigeon in size and build. It has a broad bill and bright appearance in blue, brown and black colours. Bouth types are included into the Red Book of Belarus since 1993.
