The “Pamir argali" (Ovis ammon polli) is a well-known
for the huge horns which length can reach 190 cm. The medieval
traveller Marco Polo mentioned that locals build of these horns a fence and
shelters for cattle. The Pamir argali lives in the top mountain belt at the
height of 3800 - 5800
meters above sea level. Now the ram meets only in east
Kyrgyzstan, near the Chinese border, near Pobeda Peak and Khan-Tengri.
