On November 24, 2012 the operator of post service of
"Kyrgyzpochtasy" in interaction with the state enterprise "Kyrgyzmarkasy"
issued a set of 2 values devoted to the memorable anniversaries of outstanding
historic figures of Kyrgyzstan: to the 220 anniversary of the statesman and
commander Ormon-han and the 110 anniversary of the first Kyrgyz general Ysakbek
Monuyev. The postage issue is printed in perforated and imperforated versions in 2 mini sheets of 6 values with artly decorating margins. Edition of perforated set - 6000 copies (1000 sheetlets), edition of imperforated set
- 1500 copies (250 sheetlets).
Ormon Niyazbek uulu (Ormon-han, 1791-1854) was the talented
commander, the strategist, the statesman. One of the first made an
attempt to create the uniform, centralized Kyrgyz state. To the middle of
the XIX century of Ormon-han he could convince leaders of a number of tribes of
the necessity of association. The authority of Ormon-han was recognized
by the Russian Empire, Kokand khanate and other large states of that time.
Ysakbek Monuyev (1902-1949) was the ethnic Kyrgyz, the
hereditary aristocrat, the military figure. In 1927 he protected the
Soviet-Chinese border; he was at war with basmatches. With the government
of the Kuomintang he was awarded ranks of the major general. In 1944 he
headed armed forces of the unrecognized East Turkestan republic. He died in plane crash in 1949. On memoirs of the head of
the Soviet military investigation P. Sudoplatov the accident was organized by
the Soviet intelligence services as Stalin agreed with Mao Tszedun about
restoration of territorial integrity of China and abolition of independent East
Turkestan.
