Kyrgyzstan became one of the first states of the former USSR
(and the first in Central Asia) approved the own national currency. 20 years ago,
on May 10, 1993, in
Kyrgyzstan it was issued and there was an official sign of payment in the republic territory the Kyrgyz Som.
On April 27, 2013 the Kyrgyzstan post will introduce into
circulation a postage stamp dated for the 20 anniversary of the Kyrgyz national
currency.

The banknotes of Kyrgyzstan are made on the last achievements of
science and technology of the special press and possess reliable three-level
protection. On the Kyrgyz coins and banknotes are presented the Mana images,
cultural and history figures K.Tynystanov, B. Beyshenaliyeva, Kurmanzhan-datki
and also the Tash-Rabat landscapes, the Uzgen architectural complex and
anothers.
