the series "Birds of Latvia". On June 7, 2013 is introduced into
circulation a set of 2 values with image of the long-tailed duck and the
bee-eater. The stamps are printed in 2 mini
sheets of 10 sets with decorating margins.

Long-tailed Duck (Clangula hyemalis) is a duck of the
average size with the small head and a long tail with threadlike helmsmen. It
nests on coast of the rivers and lakes. Colouring motley, strongly changes on
seasons. It eats insects, crustaceans, molluscs and small fish. Has some trade
value. Shchurok or the bee-eater (Merops) is a bird with brightly
painted, brilliant plumage. It uses in food insects, preferring bees, wasps and
bumblebees, also eats ants. Catching insects on the fly before to eat them, the
