According to the Catholic traditions the Day of Mother in Lithuania
is celebrated on the first Sunday of May. This day citizens congratulate and
thank mothers for their kindness, warmth of heart and hands. In churches there
are solemn church services. The madam the President of Lithuania expresses to
mothers congratulation with a holiday and awards mothers who have given rise,
grown-up and brought-up seven or more children.
On May 4, 2013, on the eve of the traditional holiday Day of
Mother, the Lithuanian Republic post issued a postage stamp in which basis is
put a plot of the winner of competition of children's drawing work Gryta
Kuchinskayte.
