On January 5, 2013 the Republic of Lithuania post issued a postage
stamp devoted to the 600 anniversary of the Epiphany of Samogitia and creation
of a Samogitia diocese. On stamp is represented the fresco fragment
"the Epiphany of Lithuania".

The Lithuanians accepted Christianity later than the
majority of other European people. In 1251 there was christened by the Grand
duke Mindovg. Samogitia which inhabitants passed a sacred ceremony of a christen
in 1413 after the Torun Pease again transferred this region under the power of grand
Lithuanian dukes became the last region of Lithuania which has accepted
Christianity. However, despite formal elimination of paganism in Lithuania, in
the XV century the Lithuanian peasantry still stored pagan rites and
traditions.
