08.24.2013 Russia-Liechtenstein. The subject of His Highness
For the September 2, 2013 is planned the next, already the
fifth this year, an international project of the Russian post. This day will
take place a presentation of the Russian Federation and the Principality of
Liechtenstein joint issue. The post administration of Russia will introduce
into circulation a set of 2 values on subject “Painting”. On stamps are
presented the I.G Myasoyedov pictures "A campaign of miniyets" (1909)
and "Zilum" (1945) from the State Russian Museum collections and a
private collection of Doctor Peter Goop.
The issue is printed in mini sheet of 5 sets and 2 labels with decorating margins. Design: A
Povarikhin. Size of stamps: 50 x 37 mm. Edition: 300 000 copies (60 000
sheetlets).
Ivan Grigoryevich Myasoyedov (1881-1953) is a Russian
artist, master of painting and graphics, representative of symbolism and modernist
style, author of the Principality of Liechtenstein stamps. In the thirties of
the last century he replaced a name with Evgeny Zotov and immigrated with
a family to Liechtenstein where he served as a court artist. Some I.
Myasoyedov's works, along with cloths of world famous European masters, are
presented in art gallery of the Vaduz city (the capital of Liechtenstein),
belonging to princely family.
