On May 5, 2013 the Russian post continues the series "Marine fleet of Russia" by issue into circulation of the set of 2 values with image of the
Arctic ice-class tanker "Timofey Guzhenko " and the research vessel
of the ice class "Vyacheslav Tikhonov".
The issue is printed in 2 mini sheets of 8 sets and label with decorating
margins. Design: А. Drobyshev. Size of stamps: 50 х 37 mm; Size of sheetlet:
124 х 209 mm. Edition: 328 000 copies (41 000 sheetlets).
The ice-class tanker "Timofey Guzhenko" is the
third ship of reinforced ice class tankers destined for the marine
transportation of oil. It is equipped with a system of sensors and measuring
devices allowing to monitor the condition of the ship’s body, machinery and
systems while operating in the ice and at low temperatures. The scientific and research vessel "Vyacheslav
Tikhonov" is destined for carrying out geological exploration on the
continental shelf, particularly in difficult climatic conditions of Arctic and
sub-Arctic seas.
