On February 22, 2013 on the eve of Day of the Fatherland Defender the Russian Federation post will introduce into circulation a set of 5 values devoted to the Heroes of Russia. On stamps are represented. the medal "Gold Star" and portraits of the Russian military personnel E.Tchernyshev, O. Ilyin, Y.Dmitriev, N. Maydanov, V. Shkurny for the heroism shown at execution of a military and office duty posthumously awarded by the Russian Federation highest award.

The issue is printed in 5 mini sheets of 5 values and label.

Evgeny Tchernyshev (1963-2010) - chief of Service of fire extinguishing of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. He was died at evacuation of people from the burning building in Moscow.
Oleg Ilyin (1967-2004) - officer of Management "B" ("Pennant"). He was died at liberation of hostages during act of terrorism in the city of Beslan (Dagestan).
Yury Dmitriev (1978-2002) - military engineer, captain. When he conducted engineering investigation in Grozny was lost on a radio-controlled land mine.
Nikolay Maydanov (1956-2000) - pilot, Hero of the Soviet Union, commander of a fighting transport helicopter regiment, colonel. He was lost near the Argunsky gorge in Chechnya.
Valery Shkurny (1959-2000) - captain of SRRU. Participant of three Chechen companies. He was lost in the village Komsomolskoye (Chechnya), having covered with the body the grenade, rescuing wounded fighters.
