Instead of the planned for the end of the March a postage
issue devoted to the Donetsk airport Sergey Prokofiev, the Ukraine post plans
to introduce into circulation a postage value "Kiev international airport
"Borispol" Terminal D" on April 2, 2013. On stamp is represented
the modern terminal constructed to carrying out the European Football
Championship of EURO 2012.
The issue is printed in mini
sheet of 12 values with decorating margins. Design of stamp and cancel -
V. Vassilenko. Multicolored; printing – offset Size of stamp – 52 х 25
mm. Perforation frame - 13 3/4:14 1/4. Protection of stamp:
microprint «В. Василенко». In UV light is shine the text "Київ. Бориспіль. Міжнародний аеропорт". Edition –
120 000 copies. Printed on SE “Integrated Printing Plant “Ukraina” for
production of securities”.
The terminal "D" is the biggest in Ukraine. Its opening took
place on May 28, 2012, shortly before the beginning of the Championship on
soccer of EURO 2012. Hundreds millions dollars were spent for terminal and
infrastructure construction by the Government of Ukraine. The exact sum of
expenses either is unknown, or is purposely held back. It is known only that it
astronomical. After the termination of football superiority the terminal serves
only some tens flights per day. Due to the lack of a passenger traffic terminal
resources practically aren't demanded. The economic damage from construction
and service of the air terminal is huge.
