The Vinnitsa water tower is an original engineering
construction of brick, equipped with a clock, in a pedestrian area and considered
by the hallmark of the city . Designed by architect Grigory Artynov as the
basis of urban water supply (erroneously considered the fire tower). During
World War II the tower served as a point oversee operations. After the war, it
was converted into a shelter for water utility workers . Since 1993, there is
the Museum of the memory of soldiers killed in Afghanistan during the war years
of 1979-89.
