Today, on October 14, 2012, the inhabitants of Transnistrian
capital Tiraspol celebrate the City Day. 220 years ago according to the Decree
of Empress Ekaterina II the commander A.V.Suvorov on gained lands from the
Ottoman Empire had based a fortress on Dnestr for defense of southwest
boundaries of the Russian Empire.
The action so significant that the PMR public service of communication
attended to the edition and input into the post circulation a set of 7 values
carrying out the First Day cancelation. However, the management "Stamp of
Transnistria", about the absent-mindedness and helplessness website “UkraFil”
exactly informed a month ago in news from September 13, instead of the City Day
for collectors and citizens arranged absolutely other show - the Groundhog Day.
The known tragicomic history based on the American fantastic comedy in which
the television observer of weather comes on a festival in provincial the small
town and appears involved in "time loop" - the phenomena in which
events of the same day the uncountable quantity of times repeats.
Approximately the same turn of events on field of philately
occurred in Transnistria. Instead of the emissin of the special postage issue
devoted to the city hystory and its nice characters, the dexterous and
resourceful postage "businessmen" presented a clone of the project of
the monthly prescription prepared to the Republic Day, with images of the memorials
from the different cities of PMR. But this time an issue is printed not on wrapping-paper
of the Bendery factory "Polygraphist" but on the glossy gumming paper
in "The Printing House" of the Republic of Belarus
Today's postage issue of Transnistria represents seven
miniatures printed in collective sheetlet and in 5 mini sheets of 10 values by
edition of 600 copies. On stamps
are presented the following plots: - State Coat of arms and Ripublic of
Transnistria flag. - Monument “Cossack arrow” in Dubossary city. - Memory and Grief Monument
and Memorial to soldiers of the 55th infantry Podolsk
regiment in honor of the victory 100 anniversary in Patriotic war 1812 in Bendery city. - Sacred George Victorious Chapel
and Glory Memorial “Wall of Remembrance” in Tiraspol city.
Having got stuck in "Groundhog Day", the character
of fantastic story indulges in noble and disinterested acts which do it by the
most known person of the city. Whether there is a presentation of postage issue
become the most popular event of the City Day? Possibly, we learn soon.
However, the Transnistrian publishers, apparently, too were fond and played in
Philately. To forecast the weather at them it would turn out much better!
